Still thinking about Japan

We are still thinking about Japan. It is hard to imagine that much loss at one time. San Diego was lucky to not be to adversely affected, Santa Cruz was not quite as lucky. Watch the video below for footage of the damage in Santa Cruz. We very often forget how vulnerable we are on this earth. As Americans sometimes we forget about the rest of the world. We are lucky here in California that the disaster didn't happen the other way around. The footage below is just a footnote of the major tsunami that Japan was struck with but it does illustrate how gigantic the effects of the earthquake really were. Moments like these remind us that we really are not in control. With natural disasters and disease around every corner it is kinda ironic how silly and backwards we are with our priorities. We should be celebrating love, family, and friends but instead the news is talking about Charlie Sheen's drug addiction. Ironic, don't you think?

And in the spirit of love, family, and friends, I would like to take a minute to say congratulations to my dear friend Helen who is newly engaged to a wonderful Englishmen. You both deserve only the best in life and I wish you a happy life together! Congratulations!
